The Theatre Arts
department will be offering a major in Musical Theatre beginning in 2014, and
Lewis Library is getting ready. Loren Pinkerman, our Director, has
just purchased many complete vocal scores—from classic musicals like The
Music Man and The Sound of Music to more recent hits like
Hairspray and Sister Act—to add to our collection, along with
vocal selections for more shows.
You’ll find a list
of the musicals for which we have vocal scores, and information on some of our
other musical theatre resources, on the library guide here.
Our online catalog will help you find call numbers for these scores (most are in the M 1503
area on the upper level of the library) and also books, e-books, CDs, and
DVDs.
Please see the
reference librarian for help in finding sources on a specific musicals (including
reviews), composers, etc. We have many resources on musical
theatre—and we’ll be getting more!
